September  4, 2019 – Day 3 - Paris

The long  day yesterday exhausted us.  We tried to stay up but we finally gave in to our exhaustion and went  to bed at 6PM.  We were ready to get up at 2AM. We stayed up until 4:30 AM and then went back to bed  and rested until  6AM.  We tried using Uber for the first time.  We were unsuccessful.  The driver spoke no English and drove past the pickup place.  

We ended up taking a taxi to Arc De Triumph. The first thing we did was to have croissants  and coffee at an open air café.  We remembered doing that 20 years ago and it was just as enjoyable today as it was then.  

We then took the Hoho bus   which toured all the main attractions in Paris. 

After our tour we took a  taxi to the So Ouest shopping center. We had an American style lunch at Chipoltes and then did a little shopping.  We bought matching carry-on bags with wheels.  They were exactly what we were looking for.  We should have started our trip with something like that.  Poor Bill carried a very heavy backpack from airport to airport yesterday.  We had intended to do more shopping but we were weary so we took a cab back to the hotel.  We were settled back in our room by 4:30 P.M.
